Hype, fame and recognition at a young age can be daunting for sportspersons and, much in contrast to the fairytale script, in many cases, it turns out detrimental to their careers. Today, we look at the winners of the ‘ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year’ award and see how their career panned out.

Former India wicket-keeper, Deep Das Gupta, criticized the on-field umpire’s decision not to consult the third umpire in the IPL clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. He also added that the third umpire’s involvement in matches should be increased more than what it is right now.

MS Dhoni was the captain of both squads when Brad Hogg and Shaun Tait chose their all-time IPL XI. Although there were a few similarities in both squads, Tait opted for a more balanced side as compared to his compatriot who chose an out and out squad of match-winners with both bat and ball.

Kolkata Knight Riders, who had earlier lost Australian pacer John Hastings to an injury, have roped in Shaun Tait as his replacement. KKR had been looking for a replacement ever since Hastings suffered an ankle injury in mid April, after playing just two matches, and had flown back to Australia.
