South Africa are hosting Netherlands for a three-match ODI series, beginning Friday, and there is uncertainty over second and third match, as an emerging Coronavirus variant in the country has prompted strict travel restrictions. The first ODI will go ahead as per the original schedule.

South Africa pacer Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Netherlands after testing positive for Covid-19. Junior Dala has been named as Ngidi’s replacements for the ODI series, and Keshav Maharaj will lead South Africa in the absence of full-time captain Temba Bavuma.

South Africa will host Netherlands, India and Bangladesh in a long home season running from November end to April. CSA Director of Cricket, Graeme Smith, has confirmed that the India leg will include three Tests, three ODIs and four T20Is, scheduled to run between December 26 and January 25.
