As per AFP, Joe Root’s future as England captain is in jeopardy after they lost to West Indies by 10 wickets in the third and final Test match on Sunday (March 27).  The Englishman has just one win in his last 17 Tests and has failed to lead his side to a series victory in his last five attempts.

England’s interim head coach Paul Collingwood has said that fast bowler Mark Wood is ‘unlikely’ to play in the second Test against West Indies, starting from March 16 in Barbados. Wood, 32, had sustained an elbow injury on Day 3 of the first Test match, which ended as a draw in North Sound.

Carlos Brathwaite has accused England captain Joe Root of disrespect to West Indies after he played on until five allocated balls remained on Day 5, when it was no longer mathematically possible to take six wickets. West Indies closed on 147/4 in their second innings to end the contest as a draw.
