In the midst of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the BCCI have reportedly decided to do away with the Vijay Hazare, Duleep and Deodhar Trophy for the upcoming season and have also speculatively changed the format of the Ranji Trophy. The future of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is said to be in the balance.

Sourav Ganguly has revealed that the Indian cricketing board is looking at all the process for changing formats of the domestic competitions, to keep all competitions competitive post the COVID-19 break. A BCCI official, on the other hand, suggested that they would look at the zonal system.

The final game of the Deodhar Trophy, which India C lost by 51 runs, was always in India B’s grasp as their middle-order showed immense disposition in the first innings itself. Chasing a target of 284 India C, on the other hand, saw their middle-order collapse as they fell short by quite a bit.

Hanuma Vihari, Parthiv Patel and Shubman Gill will lead the India A, India B and India C sides respectively in the upcoming Deodhar trophy. The teams were picked by the senior selection committe while in Mumbai and the tournament will be played in Ranchi from October 31st to Novermber 4th.
